چکیده
Brain network is a large-scale complex with scale-free, small-world, and modularity properties, which largely supports this high-efficiency massive system. In article, we propose to synthesize brain-network-inspired interconnections for network-on-chips. First, method generate topologies limited scale-free power-law small-world have low total link length extremely average hop count approximately proportional the logarithm of size. addition, given applications, considering topologies, present an application mapping method, including task deterministic deadlock-free routing, minimize power consumption count. Finally, cycle-accurate simulator BookSim2 used validate architecture performance different synthetic traffic patterns test cases, real-world communication networks graph processing application. Experiments show that, compared other methods, network-on-chips (NoCs) generated by proposed significantly lower latency. Especially in applications tightly coupled inter-core communication, NoC has up 70% 75% latency than mesh-based NoCs.

Nature-Inspired Interconnects for Self-Assembled Large-Scale Network-on-Chip Designs
Future nanoscale electronics built up from an Avogadro number of components need efficient, highly scalable, and robust means of communication in order to be competitive with traditional silicon approaches. In recent years, the networks-on-chip (NoC) paradigm emerged as a promising solution to interconnect challenges in silicon-based electronics. Current NoC architectures are either highly regu...
متن کاملRecursive Wavelength Routed Optical Network for Optical Network-on-Chips
Abstract— The wavelength routed optical network (WRON) is a promising optical interconnection architecture that can be integrated into a System-on-Chip (SoC) with an intention to replace traditional wire-connected on-chip micro-networks which pose severe bandwidth limitations on future super large SoC chips. In this paper, we present a new recursive architecture, the Recursive Wavelength Routed...
متن کاملLarge-Scale Network Visualization
Visualization is increasingly important for understanding the structure of communication networks and services on them, but displaying the data associated with very large networks is di cult. There are abundant research problems in visualization metaphors, methods, algorithms and the engineering of scalable interactive systems. This area is being addressed in the AT&T Infolab, a multi-disciplin...
متن کاملRow/Column-First: A Path-based Multicast Algorithm for 2D Mesh-based Network on Chips
In this paper, we propose a new path-based multicast algorithm that is called Row/Column-First algorithm. The proposed algorithm constructs a set of multicast paths to deliver a multicast message to all multicast destination nodes. The set of multicast paths are all of row-first or column-first subcategories to maximize the multicast performance. The selection of row-first or column-first appro...
متن کاملEvaluating IPv6 on a large-scale network
We evaluate an ideal model and a real large-scale network environment using available end-to-end measurement techniques that focuses on a large-scale IPv6 backbone and made performance comparisons between the current Internet (IPv4) and next generation Internet (IPv6). In this paper, we compiled the performance statistics of each network in terms of TCP and UDP throughput, delay jitters, packet...
